Originating in San Francisco, CJ Roy began by attending the Academy of Art College SF, for a brief period of time before deciding that his tuition money was better spent on film equipment and the films themselves.

CJ then went on to write, direct, produce and edit award winning films and music videos. CJ's range in production skills vary from pre-viz, storyboarding, cinematography to editing which allowed him to work freelance for one of San Francisco's most esteemed advertising agencies DDB San Francisco and interactive agencies Tribal DDB. All while doing work for such clients as Disney, VH-1 and Universal Music Group.

In 2006, CJ left San Francisco to start anew in Los Angeles, working on music videos, commercials and films. Currently CJ is the owner of the Red One Camera, where he serves as DP/Operator/DIT for productions of all sorts and is looking for the next great project.
